Doha: Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) is announcing the introduction of new advanced technology Bitumen products at The Gulf Road Technology Exhibition and Conference (RoadTeq) to be held from April 10th to April 12th at the Qatar International Exhibition Center.

Addressing the technical seminar held on the 11th April, Mr Mark Vidler, WOQOD’s Marketing Manager said, “We are delighted to announce that WOQOD is introducing new polymer based Bitumen products to the Qatari market. The use of these new products will greatly improve the flexibility of roads and so leading to extended road life and less requirement for maintenance.”

“WOQOD has invested heavily in Bitumen storage, manufacturing and distribution. We will shortly be commissioning our new Bitumen storage and manufacturing facility located at Meisaeed. This includes the ability to manufacture Polymer Modified Bitumens and Tack Coats and Emulsions. Located at the plant is a dedicated laboratory to ensure rigorous manufacturing quality is achieved and maintained. Today we have dedicated three ships importing Bitumen into Qatar. A new Bitumen ship is currently under manufacture with delivery to Qatar expected this year in September. In addition six dedicated road tankers are delivering Bitumen to customers around the clock in Qatar and more road tankers are on order.”

WOQOD’s Asst. Manager for Bitumen Operations, Samer Amin Al Omar added that WOQOD has been working closely with ASHGHAL, Qatar Standards and Qatar Petroleum Engineering to assess the specifications and the likely applications for Polymer Modified Bitumen to new road construction projects in Qatar. “WOQOD is totally committed to support the development of Qatar’s extensive road network and to help provide solutions to extend road life.” Samer concluded.

The RoadTeq exhibition features over 100 exhibitors and 3,500 trade visitors including senior officials representing municipalities, public works departments in the region, as well as road industry professionals.
