As proof of its continuing commitment to Qatar’s development particularly in the enhancement of its public transport services, Qatar Fuel “WOQOD” supported Mowasalat and the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) by being the Gold Sponsor of this year’s UITP Middle East and North Africa Assembly & Qatar Seminar held on the 16th and 17th of February respectively.

Topics discussed during the seminar included Qatar’s Urban, Public Transport and Metro Plans, the Vision, Development and Integration of Qatar’s Public Transport Systems, the New Karwa Smartcard System and Natural Gas as an alternative source of fuel. Attended by more than 100 delegates from Qatar and around the world, those who attended from WOQOD were Mr. Samer Amin Al-Omar – Bitumen Operations Superintendent, Mr. Allan Andres – Industrial Marketing Division Head, Mr. Dennis Pama – Marketing Analyst, Mr. Belgacem Chebbi – Senior Supervisor LPG Marketing, and Mr. Taoufik Tounsi – Supervisor Bitumen Marketing.

The Middle East and North Africa Assembly is being held every year and this year’s assembly and seminar acted as a prelude to UITP’s 59th World Congress to be held in Dubai, UAE on the 10th until the 14th of April, 2011.
