Qatar Fuel “WOQOD” today opened a new service station in Lekhdaira, located approximately 60 kms north of Landmark Mall on the Al Shamal Road. The station was officially inaugurated by WOQOD’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Mohammed Turki Al Sobai along with municipality and government dignitaries, WOQOD Board members and WOQOD’s management team.

The service station offers a mix of products and services for the local community in Lekhdaira as well as travelers on the main north highway. “In designing this service station we took into account the varied needs of the different types of customers that will use the site’” Mohammed Al Sobai stated. “Gasoline’s and diesel for motorists and a special lane for fueling trucks with high speed dispensers and a drive through shop for truck drivers are included. We also have a large Sidra convenience store with a safe playground to the rear of the shop for children to play in whist their parents take a break from their journey. A full range of hot and cold beverages and fast food are available in the shop. The site includes car wash, tyre bays and basic vehicle maintenance. Additionally there will open soon fast food restaurants and a pharmacy. The concept is totally in keeping with WOQOD’s desire to provide a community center to customers in the area and passing by on the highway.”

Lekhdaira is the 18th service station in WOQOD’s new image. Further sites will open this year in Umm Salal East—North Hamama, Mesaieed Truck Road and Bu Samra. WOQOD currently has an additional two service stations under construction and another 11 under planning consent.

Later the same day WOQOD opened a new Sidra convenience store on the ground floor of WOQOD’s new Tower in Al Dafna. “WOQOD’s Sidra convenience store is becoming very popular with our customers.” Al Sobai stated. “We have a strong demand for coffee and the hot and cold fresh snacks we sell and in locations where there is a high density of either residential or office based customers our stand alone convenience offer has proven to be very successful. We already have standalone convenience stores in Education City and at Katara and further locations are being made ready.”
