WOQOD Vehicles Inspection (FAHES) participated in the recently held GCC Traffic Week organized by the Traffic Department from 11th March to 16th March, 2012 at the exhibition grounds near the Qatar Exhibition Center.

The Gulf Traffic Week 2012 was inaugurated by HE Director General of Public Security Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Kholeifi along with Director of Traffic Brigadier Mohammad Saad Al Kharji. Others present on the occasion included Directors of departments of the Ministry of the Interior, Heads and members of the delegations of the GCC participants and a large gathering of citizens and residents.

“Together We Reduce Traffic Accidents” was the main theme of the week long awareness campaign. Traffic safety messages on “safe driving” were highlighted throughout the week. A focused attempt was made by the traffic department and the participating companies to increase awareness on traffic safety issues and towards making travel safer for drivers and for the general public.

FAHES representatives explained the guiding principle behind the FAHES Motto “Keeping an Eye on Your Safety”. The role of FAHES as expert vehicle inspectors authorized to technically qualify vehicles in Qatar, for the periodic registration renewal was briefed to the visitors. The occasion also provided an ideal platform for creating awareness about maintaining vehicles within safe pollution levels, and the need for all vehicles to be roadworthy.

Leaflets detailing inspection parameters and common FAQ’s about vehicle inspection were distributed through the booths. Mementoes distributed included FAHES branded caps, T- shirts, Pens and coloring kits to a large number of enthusiastic school children.

The attendees to the exhibition included students from the kindergarten to high school levels of various schools in Qatar, representations from the police training institutes, children with physical challenges from the special training centers and the general public.

The exhibition area showcased stalls of the different wings under the Ministry of Interior, Driving Institutes, Emergency Medical Service and Automobile Dealers also present were Companies dealing with Traffic Safety displaying their products. Edutainment zones and road safety awareness sessions conducted by the Traffic Department helped the children to enrich and inculcate habits to be responsible future drivers.

The participation of FAHES was applauded by the Traffic department with a certificate of appreciation.
