In line with Qatar’s policy towards reducing the country’s carbon footprint WQOQD together with QP and Mowasalat started the use of CNG in transportation. This forward initiative will contribute not only to making clean gas resources available for growing domestic fuel needs, but also it will help expanding the area of natural gas application to the transportation sector where its qualities
and environmental advantages will make it a sustainable and effective alternative to petroleum product.

Compressed Natural Gas, CNG is considered as green fuel as it reduces carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and nitrous oxides, all of which are harmful to human health and contribute to global warming. WOQOD and QP are working towards expanding the CNG network in the near future, to cover the whole country, in order to meet the growing demand on CNG, as local authorities and public transport companies are looking to substitute diesel and gasoline for more environmentally friendly fuels.
