Held last March 12-13, 2012 at the Oryx Rotana Hotel Doha, 2nd Road Planning, Design and Construction Middle East was an excellent opportunity for WOQOD to network with regional and global road construction player and expert to sharing opportunities in order to profile major road projects, and define key issues, benefits and challenges associated with the latest technologies, systems and materials available. It also serves as a major platform for road sector experts to engage in a variety of discussions on overcoming construction challenges and effective project management including planning, designing, integrating and construction projects in the region.

With the Qatar government leading the way in road infrastructure development with an allotted investment of US$45 billion over the next seven years through the Ministry of Public Works (Ashghal) to build a new 32 major projects consisting of 900 Km of mainline carriageways (single/dual 5 lane & 240 intersection) , WOQOD is proud to have been one the major exhibitor for this year’s event. Aside from representatives from Ashghal, the event also brought together key decision makers from the Urban Planning Council, UAE’s Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of work Bahrain, Ministry of public work and housing Jordan.

Topics discussed were Qatar’s Road Infrastructure, Mitigating Congestion, Addressing Construction Challenges, and exploring regional case studies and best practices and adopting effective project management skills to reduce the risk of project delays.
