Qatar Fuel “WOQOD” has successfully commissioned four new storage tanks each of a capacity of 10 million liters at its fuel storage and distribution depot in Messaimer on the 1st of May 2008 along with new loading pumps & associated facilities. The project cost was in excess of QR 60 million. The new tanks were formally commissioned by WOQOD’s Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Mohammed Turki Al Sobai.

Commenting on the projects, Al Sobai said “This investment is further evidence of WOQOD’s intent to invest in major capital projects to ensure that facilities are in place on time to meet the rapidly growing demand for diesel and gasoline in Qatar. These tanks are part of an overall investment strategy in its first stage of expansion that includes 6 new truck loading points at the Doha Depot to be completed by June 2008 & a new pipeline from the Qatar Petroleum Refinery in Mesaieed to improve delivery volumes to the depot which will be completed by end of 2008. The second stage of Doha Depot expansion will witness establishing a new loading gantry, additional facilities and upgrading its road tanker fleet to meet delivery requirements of our customers.”

Al Sobai also paid tribute to the project management team in WOQOD for their professionalism in managing this strategic project. “WOQOD endeavors to have focused high performing teams delivering excellence in their job roles. This will be further demonstrated by our expectation to achieve ISO 9000 accreditation for our core processes later this year.”
