WOQOD and Al Meera joint press statement
Doha, Qatar, 05 February 2020 – Pursuant to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Qatar Fuel Company (WOQOD) and Al Meera Consumer Goods Company (AL MEERA) on 29th July 2019 aimed to explore the possibility of the latter operating and managing the former’s Sidra brand of convenience stores by the 28th of January 2020, the two parties have mutually decided that the interest of their shareholders is best served by focusing on their strategic goals independently. As such, the six-month-long MoU will not be extended.
Consequently, the two important national icons will continue to realize the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 with their own respective approaches.
