Named Gasoline Gold, the new fuel has an octane content of 95 and is ideal for all vehicles other than high-performance cars. It is a blend of the currently available Gasoline Super (octane 97) and Gasoline Premium (octane 90) and has been priced at Dh 77/Litre.

WOQOD Retail and Marketing Manager, Mark Vidler, said Gasoline Gold would only be available at WOQOD Petrol Stations as the blending was done in the fuel dispenser itself. It is not procured from the refinery.“The new dispensers we purchase from the US allow us to blend the 90 and 97 together inside the dispenser. We can come out with any blend between 90 and 97. But our customer research showed octane 95 will be the most suitable,” he said.

He said the other petrol stations could not market Gasoline Gold as it was not available in refineries in Qatar.

And in view of the Doha Asian Games, WOQOD has renamed Gasoline Super as Gasoline Platinum and Gasoline Premium as Gasoline Silver.
